Etiquette placemats

The last time we had friends over for dinner, I put out our place mats and to my embarrassment saw four very stained, ripped and tatty looking mats that had seen better days! Looking on the web I came across these beautiful place mats that were just what I was after. you can get them here:

Mike Rigoll Painting

We had a very talented artist friend Mike Rigoll create for us a beautiful painting of where we always go swimming in the summer. It's of North Cottesloe and Cottesloe Beach, and has amazing detail of swimmers, boats, cars, cyclists and cafes, everything that makes Cottesloe such a relaxed and vibrant place to be. More of Mike's beautiful work including illustration can be seen on his website by clicking on the link below. Thanks so much Mike we love it! x

My new ride Pista Via Brera

For quite some time now I have been taking different styled bikes for a test ride trying to find one that would be right for me. When I walked into a cycle shop and spotted this one, I was instantly in love! This Pista Via Brera by Bianchi is so beautiful to ride it almost seems effortless. I was a bit nervous about having my feet in the cages but quickly found it wasn't going to be a problem...(it hasn't yet anyway!)

Twinkle Toes

Bought Mia a new pair of sandals as her other ones looked more like a ducks beak as the sole was coming away. Wish they had a pair in my size!

The first roses of Spring from our garden...

Featured Artist } Michael Zavros

When I first saw the work of Michael Zavros I couldn't quite believe the that his paintings weren't photos. Now I'm not a "horsey person" by any means, in fact I'm a little scared of them after several attempts to ride them were completely unsuccessful, but the beauty and grace of these paintings take my breath away. From top:

Home Sweet Home

Having been in our house for close to 12 years, there were a few things that needed a bit of a freshen up. Some of our down lights were on the blink so we had an electrician come in to get us back into the light again. We didn't have any intention of buying these two drum pendants, but when we came across them in the lighting store we couldn't resist! Lights can really make an impact in a space and we loved the simplicity of these two pendants.

Lee Broom Crystal Bulb

Just love these Crystal Bulbs by Lee Broom. Hung grouped together makes a beautiful and sophisticated statement. (Might need to sell one of the kids so I can afford it!)

Father and Son

I took this photo on my iphone before Kim had to go away back to work again. We were celebrating Fathers Day early as Kim was sadly going to be away for it. William was giving him a big cuddle so couldn't resist a quick snap. Looking back through my iphone albums (deleting many as my kids must have got a hold of it at some stage), I had to smile at this one. The two men in my life. xxoo

Nanna and Grandad's Garden

Yesterday Mia and I went to visit Nanna for some coffee and cake and to sit in the morning sunshine. Mia decided to be a bit naggy and wouldn't let mum and I chat so after a few more nags Nanna decided to walk Mia around Grandad's garden, and show her how to pick a posey of flowers. Of course she loved it and this is a picture of her colourful bounty.

Update On Painting

Now it's been some time since I worked on this painting. Mainly because every time I tried to either I would get sick or the kids would. Its been such a shocker of a flu season. Anyway now that we're all better I put on my painting clobber and painted more detail in the rocks and the holiday villas. I think about 2 more days work and its done...all going well!

Bloom Theory Camera Straps

These camera straps designed by Bloom Theory is the brain child of two girls, Vania and Christine. I love them, and what a change from the plain old black ones. These two are my favourites, "Washed Ashore" and with sequins below, "Stardust". If you're looking to glam up the camera strap around your neck, click on the link below!

Hyde Park

Walking around our beautiful local park, the sun was shining, the kids were playing, and I thought I would snap these images quickly, before the light changed.

La Sardina Belle Starr

When I saw this vintage styled camera from La Sardina I just had to blog about it. It's a 35mm analogue wide-angled camera, with a 22mm wide-angle plastic lens. It has easy to use focus settings and a bulb setting for long exposures. There are many other styles to choose from on there website, and although it doesn't have all the bells and whistles most cameras have these days, it certainly makes up for in coolness
