A day at Hyde Park

It was a freezing day in Perth but with beautiful clear sunny skies, so we all rugged up and took the kids to the park for a run around.  I just had to show a picture of Mia in her beanie. Its my favourite and perfect for the weather we're having now! These photos were taken on my Samsung Galaxy 4 and then put through the app "Aviary" which I use religiously.

Featured Artist } Martine Emdur

Martine Emdur's paintings capture that beautiful, serene underwater silence you feel when you are completely immersed in water. Coupled with the fact that any shade of aqua I'm instantly in love with, it stands to reason I'm completely transfixed with her paintings. Martine's artworks are large in scale so plenty of wall space is needed, as well as a sizable wallet, but would be an investment that you would never regret.

Tiny Teddy Cars

Today is all about Smarties. The top picture was when we took the kids out for breakfast. Yes I know, I know, gigantic Smartie cookies for breakfast with a hot chocolate is hardly a nutritious brekky but hey, Its the holidays! The Tiny Teddy cars I made for a little family party we had at home for my son, and if you would like party food that's a big hit with the little ones, then you need to make these!

Tiny Teddy cars recipe

Prep time: 20 min
Cook Time: 2 min

Ingredients:

100g milk chocolate melted
1 bag Milky Way bars (you will need 24)
1 box Tiny Teddy biscuits, honey flavour
1 bag Smarties (340g)

Method:

Set out tray or serving plate for Teddies.

Sort the Smarties into colours and cut 12 Smarties in half with a sharp knife to use for the steering wheels (keep in mind steering wheel colours need to match the wheel colours).

Remove the wrappers from the Milky Way bars.

Cut 24 Tiny Teddies in half at the belly button with a sharp knife.

Place the melted chocolate into a resealable bag and snip a tiny corner off. Squeeze out a few drops of chocolate to glue 4 Smartie wheels on each car then place on a serving tray.

Place a few drops of chocolate on the top of each car and sit the Teddy's on. Place a drop of chocolate on the car in front of each Teddy and glue on the steering wheels.

Japanese inspired moss garden

Yesterday we went up to Chittering for a day trip to a friends property and whist there found heaps of beautiful moss and I wondered if I could create my own living Japanese style garden. I also gathered together a few rocks that were covered in lichen and a gorgeous piece of petrified wood.  I bought a simple black square pot tray from Bunnings and placed them all together to come up with this. Now I have to try and keep it alive!
