For my daughters 3rd birthday mum decided she wanted to make her a doll. Now this was no ordinary doll pattern. I remember pulling out this pattern amongst many other "future projects" when I was about 8 years of age! Finally there was a reason to make her, and this was a real team effort. Mum made the body and the beautiful clothes she's wearing, (she even has underwear on), and my auntie (being extremely handy with a needle and thread) stitched the beautiful flower details onto her shoes. I painted her face, and was so nervous I would mess it all up in some way I put it off until the last minute. My daughter named her Lola, and she will surely be a family heirloom in the years to come.
